Star Thread Tail — VRChat Glass Galaxy Tail with a Crown
상품 설명
이 상품에는 AI로 생성된 콘텐츠가 포함되어 있습니다.
A tail of floating glass vertebrae held together only by starlight threads — a galaxy streams from root to tip, and on command the 5 tip fins fan open into a star crown.
▶ VRChat tail · needs Modular Avatar (free, from VCC) · no lilToon needed · drag-and-drop prefab · Quest prefab included
10 barrel-shaped glass vertebrae, each with its own small spiral galaxy inside and a polished metal band at both ends. They do not touch: thin threads of starlight hold them together across the gaps. A metal mount sits at the base, a slim, pointed bundle of 5 folded glass fins at the tip.
IT MOVES ON ITS OWN (no menu, from the moment it appears)
• A slow S-shaped sway runs from root to tip, one loop every 5 s. It is an animation, so the tail keeps moving while you stand still
• The galaxies stream root → tip: a wave of light runs down the tail once every 6 s, each vertebra a moment after the one before
• Every galaxy turns, one turn in 14 s
• The starlight threads breathe brighter and dimmer every 3.2 s
• A PhysBone sits on top of the sway: grab it, and it swings when you move
On PC the light is all shader time: no extra parameters and no particle systems.
CROWN (menu toggle)
1. The tail straightens out from the root to the tip (1.2 s) while the gaps between the vertebrae widen to 1.2x and the threads stretch
2. A pulse of light runs down the tail and reaches the tip at 1.6 s
3. The moment it arrives, the fins open in three steps, centre first, then the lower pair, then the upper pair (0.25 s apart), each swinging a little past and settling back, and stardust drifts out of the crown (PC)
Opening takes 2.6 s. While the crown is open the sway drops to 20 % so the tail holds it up. Turn it off and the fins fold first, then the gaps close and the tail loosens back into its sway (1.8 s). A change of mind plays the current move out first: nothing jumps.
THE MENU (Expressions menu "Star Thread Tail")
• On: show / hide. The vertebrae come out of the mount one by one (1.6 s) and go back in from the tip (1.2 s)
• Crown: the crown, as above
• Colour: Milky Way Blue / Red Giant / Violet Void. On PC the new colour runs down the tail from root to tip (1 s)
• Size: a radial, 0.6x to 1.4x (starts at 1x)
On, Colour and Size are remembered; Crown starts closed.
3 COLOURS (all in one prefab, switched from the menu)
• Milky Way Blue (the first colour) — deep navy glass, white and ice-blue galaxies
• Red Giant — smoked dark-red glass, crimson and ember nebulae
• Violet Void — black-violet glass, purple and pink stars
SIZE (measured in Unity, at 1x)
• 94.5 cm from the mount to the fin tips · first vertebra 9.1 cm across · crown 34.3 cm wide when open
FITTING
• It goes on your Hips bone by itself at upload (Modular Avatar Bone Proxy)
• To move or turn the tail root (a skirt, a coat, a different hip height), move the ST_Adjust object inside the prefab. Press Play to see where it sits
PC AND QUEST
• ST_StarThreadTail (PC): everything above, three shaders made for it (glass, metal, glow)
• ST_StarThreadTail_Quest (Quest): the same menu, sway, PhysBone, crown opening, show / hide and colours on VRChat/Mobile/Particles/Additive with painted pictures and bones. Differences: the glass glows instead of reflecting, the galaxy is a turning picture in each vertebra with a glow running root → tip (one run every 6 s), the threads do not breathe, no stardust, and the colour change is a quick draw-in instead of the root-to-tip run
WHAT YOU GET
• ST_1.0.0.unitypackage: 2 prefabs (PC, Quest), 3 PC shaders, 12 materials (9 PC, 3 Quest), 3 textures (Quest), menu, animators
• README in English and Japanese
PERFORMANCE (this item alone, measured in Unity)
• PC prefab: 12,022 triangles · 1 skinned mesh · 3 materials · 17 bones · 1 PhysBone
• Quest prefab: 2,438 triangles · 1 skinned mesh · 1 material · 48 bones · 1 PhysBone
• No particle systems · no lights · no constraints · no contacts
• Synced: 4 parameters, 18 bits
• VRChat SDK performance rank: PC prefab PC Excellent · Quest prefab Quest Good
GOOD TO KNOW
• Needs Modular Avatar (free, from the VRChat Creator Companion). No lilToon needed.
• Needs a humanoid avatar (it sits on the Hips bone).
• If the mount sinks into your clothes or floats off your back, move ST_Adjust; change the length with Size.
• The glow looks best in worlds with bloom.

AI DISCLOSURE (AI-Assisted)
The code that builds this tail (meshes, shaders, textures, Unity setup and animations) and the text on this page were written with help from an AI assistant. An AI image generator made rough concept sketches I looked at while designing; nothing it made is in the files or in the preview images, which are rendered in Unity from the actual prefab.
